A Rented ATM Can Save you Money on Wedding Alcohol Costs

Blog

Weddings are a grand celebration, and the receptions are just as fun. At most, there will be plenty of alcoholic drinks to go around. Some newlywed couples are investing in renting an ATM and pairing it with a cash bar as a way of covering some of their alcohol costs.

Alcohol Costs Can Be Expensive

A good wedding reception typically features some type of alcohol source for adult guests. However, it can cost the wedding party quite a bit of money to have an open bar. For example, it is estimated that this type of service can cost nearly $3,000 or so. That cost adds a lot of extra money to a service that is probably already costing thousands of dollars.

As a result, it isn't a bad idea to consider holding an open bar and renting an ATM to be placed outside of the bar. While these steps may seem surprising or even a little tacky, they can actually be a great choice for someone who is on a tight wedding budget.

Cash Bars Can Help Overcome The Cost

While a cash bar may be seen as a faux paus by some wedding planners, it can help overcome some of the costs of hosting a bar. The prices should be reasonable and what guests can afford, such as $1 per beer and maybe $2 for a mixed drink. That cost is more than cheap and should still provide you with enough cash flow to avoid going too far into debt.

The one problem that may be hard to predict is which guests will bring cash. Many people don't bother holding cash in their wallet or may not bring cash to the wedding reception. That's why an ATM is a good rental idea for a wedding. They can provide your reception with a good source of cash that can keep your guests enjoying their drinks.

Installing An ATM

A rented ATM is a great choice to pair with a cash bar because it allows your guests to take out cash as they need it and to continue to pay for drinks. Instead of having to worry about a limited source of cash in their wallet, they can instead take out a $20 or even $40 and pay for their night's drinks. They can even put a few bucks in the tip jar for the busy bartender.

This process can create a decent cash flow that can add a little bit of extra money to your bank account or be used to pay off the bartender. So if you are holding a wedding and are worried you can't pay for your alcohol costs, consider the benefits of an ATM for rent and pairing it with a cash bar.
